My Style Is Divided Into Before and After Discovering Personal Color

Looking back, I can honestly say that my style and overall image are divided into two phases: before and after discovering my personal color.
In my twenties, I felt like I could wear almost anything. I tried different fashion trends without worrying too much about whether the colors truly suited me. Even if I chose shades that weren’t the best for me, it didn’t seem to matter.
Youth had a way of making almost everything look good.

But as the years passed, things began to change.
In my thirties and forties, I started noticing that certain colors made a much bigger difference than I had ever imagined. Some colors made my face look brighter, healthier, and more vibrant, while others made me look tired or even older.
That’s when I truly began to understand the importance of personal color.
Before learning about personal color, I simply chose clothes and makeup because they looked pretty or were trendy. I had no idea which colors enhanced my natural features or brought out the best version of myself.
Everything changed after I discovered my personal color.
When shopping for clothes, makeup, handbags, accessories, or even small everyday items, I naturally began asking myself,

“Does this color truly suit me?”

Little by little, choosing colors that complemented me started changing not only my wardrobe but also my overall image.
I looked more natural and approachable. Sometimes I appeared more polished, and in professional settings, I even felt more confident and put together.
But the biggest change wasn’t just how I looked.
It was finally feeling like myself.
Personal color isn’t simply about finding colors that look good.
It’s about discovering the colors that express who you truly are.
Before learning about personal color, I never realized how much of a difference color could make. Afterward, I gradually discovered a version of myself that had always been there—but was finally able to shine.
It highlighted my strengths, enhanced my natural image, and helped me present myself in a way that felt authentic.
That’s why I don’t think personal color is just another beauty trend.
In my twenties, youth completed my style. In my thirties and forties, the right colors complete it.

The older I get, the more I believe personal color matters.
It’s not about changing who you are.
It’s about revealing the best version of who you already are.
For me, discovering my personal color wasn’t simply about finding flattering colors.
It was about understanding myself better and learning how to express my true self with confidence.
